What this guide can help you compare
Cozeware sells ductless air conditioners and heat-pump systems in multiple capacities and electrical configurations. A lower sticker price does not automatically mean a better fit: the right model depends on the room, local climate, wiring, installation plan and the features you will actually use.

01 / CAPACITYSize the room—not just the budget
Mini-splits are commonly sold by cooling capacity in BTUs. Cozeware product listings describe different coverage estimates by model, but those estimates are starting points, not a substitute for a proper load calculation. Ceiling height, insulation, windows, sun exposure, air leakage and local climate all affect the capacity required.
Before buying: measure the space and ask a qualified HVAC professional to confirm the required capacity, especially for open-plan or multi-room areas.
02 / ELECTRICALConfirm 115V vs. 230V
Some models are offered in 115-volt versions while others require 230 volts. Do not assume a unit will work with an existing outlet or circuit. Check the exact model's nameplate, installation manual, minimum circuit ampacity and maximum overcurrent protection requirements.
Before buying: have an electrician confirm the available circuit and any required dedicated wiring or breaker.
03 / EFFICIENCYCompare ratings on the exact model
SEER2 describes seasonal cooling efficiency; HSPF2 relates to seasonal heating performance. Higher ratings can indicate greater efficiency under standardized test conditions, but actual energy use depends on climate, set points, installation quality and how the system is operated.
Before buying: compare the precise model's certified ratings and avoid treating broad advertised savings percentages as a guaranteed reduction in your utility bill.
04 / COMFORTCheck noise, airflow and controls
Look at indoor and outdoor sound ratings, fan settings, airflow direction, remote controls, app access and voice-assistant compatibility. Make sure the features listed apply to the specific capacity and series you intend to purchase.
Before buying: review the product specifications and user manual rather than relying only on a headline or promotional image.
INSTALLATION MATTERS
Plan the complete project before ordering.
A ductless mini-split is more than the indoor unit. Confirm what is included—such as the outdoor condenser, line set, mounting hardware, communication cable, drain components and remote—and what must be purchased separately. Check line-set length, wall penetration, condensate drainage, outdoor-unit placement, electrical work and local permit requirements.
Refrigerant handling, evacuation, pressure testing and commissioning may require qualified professionals and must follow the manufacturer's instructions and applicable regulations. Confirm the installation requirements for your exact model before assuming it is a simple DIY project.
BUDGET THE WHOLE INSTALLATION
Compare the complete project cost—not just the unit.
The product price may not include every item or service needed to get a mini-split running. Before ordering, request an itemized estimate and confirm whether each of these is included:
- Electrical work: dedicated circuit, breaker, disconnect, wiring and any panel upgrades.
- Installation materials: line-set length, wall sleeve, mounting bracket or pad, drain tubing and weather sealing.
- Labor and commissioning: mounting, refrigerant-line work, leak/pressure testing, evacuation and startup checks by a qualified installer.
- Permits and code requirements: local permits, inspections and required outdoor-unit clearances.
- Possible extras: line-set covers, condensate pump, longer line set, surge protection or difficult-access charges.
Ask the installer to identify exclusions in writing. Never assume a product listing's included-kit image means all installation labor, electrical work or permit fees are included.
AFTER-SALES CHECKLIST
Read the warranty and return terms.
Cozeware's published warranty page lists a 7-year compressor warranty and a 5-year parts warranty for air conditioners, subject to its terms. Its return policy says eligible unused items may be returned within 30 days, excludes installed products, and may apply a 20% restocking fee to returns not caused by quality problems. Read the current policies for exclusions, authorized-seller requirements and whether installation labor is covered before ordering.
