Grundig S04 vs. S08: Which TPMS fits your RV or truck?
Both systems support high-pressure tire monitoring, but the key difference is the setup: the S04 is focused on six wheels, while the S08 is designed for larger 8–12-wheel configurations.

A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) can help drivers keep track of pressure and temperature readings while travelling. When choosing one for an RV, dually truck or heavy trailer, start with the number of tires you need to monitor and the pressure range your tires actually require. A higher maximum PSI alone does not make a system the right choice for every vehicle.

*Prices are the displayed manufacturer product-page prices for selected configurations as checked October 26, 2026, and can change. The S08 product family may show a lower 'from' price for accessory/sensor options; do not assume this buys a complete monitoring kit. Price depends on the selected sensor count, pressure rating and optional signal booster. Confirm the package contents and live price on the product page before ordering.
What to know about the S04
The S04 is the more focused option for a compatible six-wheel layout. Its receiver has a solar panel as well as USB-C charging, and Grundig lists a 500 mAh built-in battery. The product page lists a pressure setting range of 29–217 PSI, but buyers need to select the appropriate sensor version for their requirements.
One important setup detail: the manufacturer warns that the default high-pressure alarm is 116 PSI. If your vehicle requires a higher operating range, the alarm settings must be adjusted according to the tire and vehicle requirements before use. Do not assume that a system's maximum range is the correct inflation pressure for your tires.
Check the current S04 configurations and price ↗What to know about the S08
The S08 is intended for larger configurations. Grundig lists 8-, 10- and 12-sensor options, a 5-inch HD display and a 650 mAh built-in battery. It supports monitoring up to 217 PSI when the appropriate high-pressure sensors are selected. The manufacturer also offers sensor packages with a signal booster, which may be relevant for longer or signal-obstructed vehicle combinations.
Its default high-pressure alarm is listed as 145 PSI. That may not suit every RV or trailer, so review and set alarm thresholds using the vehicle and tire manufacturers' guidance. Verify the wheel mode and the exact sensor package before checkout; standard-pressure and heavy-duty sensors are not interchangeable assumptions.

The most useful distinction is wheel count and configuration, not simply the maximum pressure number. For a compatible six-wheel setup, the S04 offers a more targeted package and solar charging. For larger rigs that need more sensor positions, the S08 provides the broader configuration options and a larger display. Either way, carefully match the sensor rating and alarm settings to your actual tires and load.
